It also means learning to recognize “tells,” or nervous habits, like fiddling with their chips or putting on a stern face.

You must also be able to decide when to try for a draw. While it is tempting to try for a big win with a high-pot-odds hand, you must balance this against the risk of losing your entire stack. If the odds of hitting your hand are not very good, then you should fold. In the long run, this will improve your profitability.
