What is a Casino?
Casino is a place where champagne glasses clink and locals and tourists mingle, giving the whole space an incredible buzz. It’s a social experience as much as it is an attempt to gamble away your money on the luck of the draw. And of course, booze is served nonstop, helping to lower inhibitions and cloud judgment.
Casinos are designed with their business goals in mind, namely that you will spend more time gambling and more money in them than you would at any other entertainment venue. They use delightful colors and shapes that catch your eye, along with decorations meant to make you forget what time of day or night it is. Red is a popular decorating color because it’s thought to have an invigorating and cheering effect on the players. Usually, casinos do not have clocks on their walls or walkways because they want you to lose track of time and stay longer.
The people in a casino are a pretty diverse group – there’s the regulars who strut around like they own the joint, and then there are those who are desperately trying to win back what they lost in their last round of roulette or poker. Regardless of their motivation, though, most of them are there to have a good time. And of course, there’s the music, the coins clinking, and the cheers that erupt when someone hits a big jackpot.
